Download and installation guide
After you buy, you get a private download page with the Windows installer and your licence key. Here is everything that happens next.
1. Get your download
Straight after payment you are taken to your order page, which links to your private download page. We also email you a link to it, together with your licence key. The page has:
- The installer —
Pagewright-PDF-Editor-Setup-1.0.0-x64.exe, 100.2 MB (105,077,437 bytes). - Your licence key —
PWK-followed by five groups of letters and numbers. Keep the email with your receipts.
Download links expire after a few days and can be used a limited number of times, so that a forwarded email can’t be used by everyone. You can request a new link at any time with the email address you used at checkout, or sign in to your account (optional) to see your key and download again.
2. Check the file (optional)
To confirm the installer is exactly the file we published, open PowerShell in your Downloads folder and run Get-FileHash .\Pagewright-PDF-Editor-Setup-1.0.0-x64.exe. The result should match the SHA-256 shown here and on your download page.
3. Install
- Run the installer. It installs for your Windows account only, so no administrator rights are needed.
- Choose the folder (or keep the default). To install for everyone who uses the PC, choose all users — Windows then asks for administrator permission.
- Choose whether you want a desktop shortcut. A Start menu shortcut is always added.
- Finish. Pagewright starts, and you can make it your default PDF app in Windows Settings if you like.
While the installer is not code-signed, Windows SmartScreen may warn that the publisher is unknown. Signing the installer is required before launch.
4. Activate with your licence key
The first time Pagewright starts, it asks for your licence key. Type or paste it and choose Activate. This needs an internet connection once; after that Pagewright works offline and never checks the licence online again.
A PC without internet? On the activation screen choose No internet on this PC? and save the request file. On a device with internet, sign in to your account, upload the file under Activate a PC that has no internet, and take the activation file you get back to the PC.
Reinstall or move to a new PC
Your key is active on one PC at a time. Reinstalling on the same PC: install again and enter the same key. Moving to a new PC: on the old one choose Help → Deactivate, then install on the new PC and enter your key. You can move it as often as you like.
Old PC lost or broken? Sign in to your account and release it (up to 2 times in 12 months), or contact support.
Updating
Updates are free for life: download new versions from your account and your key activates them too. Pagewright never updates itself. To install a newer version, run its installer over the existing one; your settings and activation are kept. Your current version keeps working whether or not you update.
Uninstall
Settings → Apps → Installed apps → Pagewright PDF Editor → Uninstall. Your settings, saved signatures and activation are kept unless you delete them. Moving to another PC? Choose Help → Deactivate before you uninstall.
