Release notes

What changed in each version. We list only features that are implemented and pass testing.

1.0.0 — October 2026

The first version on sale. This installer is not yet code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC" the first time you run it: choose More info → Run anyway. A code-signed installer will follow as a free update.

  • Licence keys and one-PC activation. Enter your key once to activate Pagewright on a PC (online, or with an activation file for a PC without internet); Help → Deactivate moves it to another PC. Your key activates every future version.
  • Edit existing text. Edit whole paragraphs, which rewrap at their original width, spacing and alignment, or single lines in place. The old wording is removed from the file. Right-to-left and vertical text can't be edited yet.
  • Certificate signatures. A Digital signatures panel checks signatures in PDFs you receive. Signing with a certificate from the Windows certificate store, with an optional time stamp (off by default), has been tested with software certificates; smart cards and USB tokens have not been tested yet.
  • Bates numbering across a set of files, with a preview, CSV/JSON manifests and resume after an interruption.
  • Automate recipes with dry runs, export/import and resume.
  • Thai text in added text boxes, comments, stamps, headers and form fields, drawn with a bundled Noto Sans Thai font.
  • More tools in the Advanced tab, including library search across folders, Ask Documents (quotes with page links, off by default), measuring, PDF portfolios and attachments, editable bookmarks and a hidden-data inspector.
  • Regional defaults. Paper size, units and date formats follow your Windows region and can be changed in Preferences.
  • Everything from the development builds: viewing with tabs, thumbnails, bookmarks, search and printing; page reorder, rotate, delete, insert, extract, crop, merge and split; page numbers, headers and footers, watermarks; text boxes, images and visible signatures; 11 annotation types with replies; form filling, export/import and flattening; OCR with English included; images to PDF; compression; batch processing and document comparison; safe saving checked by two PDF readers and crash recovery.
