Software licence terms

Last updated

These are the licence terms for Pagewright PDF Editor, written in plain language. In force from 23 October 2026. Changes are posted here with a new date.

Licence

One named person may use Pagewright PDF Editor — the version bought and every future version — on one PC at a time. The licence can be moved to another PC by deactivating it on the old one.

Business and commercial use: included — the same licence covers personal and business use. One licence per person: a company that needs Pagewright for several people buys one licence for each of them.

Your licence key and activation

  • Your licence is a key (PWK-…). Pagewright asks for it when it first starts and activates it on that PC. Until it is activated, Pagewright can't open documents.
  • Activation needs an internet connection once, or an activation file from your account for a PC without internet. It records your key, a one-way hash of Windows' machine identifier, the computer's name and the app version. After that, Pagewright works offline and never checks the licence online again.
  • A key is active on one PC at a time. Choose Help → Deactivate to free it for another PC, as often as you like. A lost or broken PC can be released from your account up to 2 times in 12 months, or by support.
  • The key never expires and isn’t tied to a version: it activates every future version too. If our website, store or payment provider goes offline, an activated copy keeps working; new activations need this website.
  • Please don't share your key.

What the licence covers

Use of the version you bought and of every future version of Pagewright PDF Editor, including major versions, at no extra cost. Free lifetime updates: every future version of Pagewright PDF Editor, including major versions, at no extra cost — no upgrade fees and no subscription. "Lifetime" means for as long as Pagewright is developed and offered; if development ever ends, your licence key never expires and your installed version keeps working. Your licence key and its activation work with every future version; we never remove features from a version you have to make you pay again.

Open-source components

Pagewright includes open-source components that are licensed under their own terms, listed in the app under Help → Third-Party Notices. Nothing in these terms restricts your rights under those licences.

Restrictions

  • One licence is for one person. Don't share, sell, rent, lend or sub-license your key; a company buys one licence per person who uses Pagewright.
  • Don't remove or work around the licence check, and don't modify, decompile or reverse-engineer Pagewright, except where the law lets you do so regardless of these terms. Open-source components keep their own licences (above).
  • Don't use Pagewright for anything unlawful, for example to forge documents or signatures.
  • If a key is shared, resold or obtained by fraud or a chargeback, we may stop it from activating new PCs. A copy that is already activated keeps working.

Warranty

Pagewright is provided "as is". We work to make it reliable — every save is checked by two independent PDF readers and the app keeps a recovery copy — but we can't promise it is free of errors or works with every PDF, so keep copies of important files. If Pagewright doesn't do what this website says it does, tell us within 14 days of your purchase and we refund you in full (refund policy). Where the law of your country gives you more than this (for example as a consumer in the EU, the UK or Australia), those rights are not affected.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to Pagewright or these terms is limited to the amount you paid for your licence, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits, lost data or business interruption. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit — for example for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
